<p>Costa Rica Medical Tourism Services has its own addictions rehab center in Costa Rica. We have named our center “Nueva Vida Health and Wellness”. In Spanish Nueva Vida means “new life” and that is our mission – to give our patients a new life.</p>
<p>We recognize the serious health care issues faced by millions of people who are addicted to prescription and recreational drugs and who need access to affordable <a title="Treatment of Addiction" href="http://treatmentofaddiction.co" target="_blank">treatment of addiction</a> that really provides results.</p>
<p>Costa Rica Medical Tourism Services has created a unique program on the grounds of a beautiful estate located on a hilltop above one of Costa Rica’s exotic tropical beaches. Added to this exotic and remote location we have assembled an exceptional staff that works hand in hand with therapists in the United States to provide a truly outstanding rehab program. Our program works – it produces results.</p>
<h2></h2>
<p>Attending our rehab program in Costa Rica provides many benefits for any patient. Among them are:</p>
<ul>
<li>The cost of our 60 day treatment in Costa Rica is less that 1/2 of the cost of a similar program in the United States.</li>
<li>Our program in Costa Rica provides total anonymity – there will be no record of a patient’s attendance – this means an employer, friend or family member will never know about a patient’s treatment.</li>
<li>Our addictions treatment center in Costa Rica is in an exotic and remote location far from the stress and influences typically found back in the United States.</li>
<li>Our treatment center provides a complete change of environment and culture. Being in a tropical paradise like Costa Rica makes it a lot more acceptable for a patient to endure the rigors of rehab and enroll in the program.</li>
<li>The fact that a patient is in a totally new, exciting and beautiful environment, surrounded by nature, in a wonderful warm and sunny climate, by the ocean greatly helps with the recovery process.</li>
</ul>
<p>In our unique 60 day program combines 60 + hours of group, individual and customized sessions with components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and , however we incorporate many other facets to our unique program. Among them is a choice of daily classes in several different holistic modalities such as:</p>
<ul>
<li>Guided meditations</li>
<li>Tibetan Yoga</li>
<li>Qi Gong</li>
<li>Group Spanish study</li>
<li>Latin dance</li>
<li>Gardening – Flower and Vegetable</li>
<li>Uplifting videos and movies</li>
<li>Courtesy and manners (as related to job applications and interviews)</li>
<li>Nutrition</li>
<li>Learning about money and how to read and create a personal balance sheet through the game Cash Flow with the group</li>
</ul>
<p>And for those patients who have progressively earned the right and trust over the first several weeks of residence in Costa Rica can participate in:</p>
<ul>
<li>Hiking and bird watching in the rain forest</li>
<li>Volcano tours</li>
<li>Bird watching</li>
<li>Zip lining and aerial trams over tropical jungles and rivers</li>
<li>Campfires and shared discussions on the beach</li>
<li>Sunday barbecues on the beach</li>
<li>Fishing</li>
<li>White water rafting</li>
<li>Horseback riding</li>
</ul>
<p>We also offer over 30 different day tours all over the country. Patients can also take Spanish lessons, yoga, martial arts, nutrition, and cooking classes.</p>
<h2></h2>
<p>The center is situated on a hilltop 500 feet above the ocean on a two acre estate covered in lush tropical foliage along with mango trees and coconut palms. It has a beautiful infinity swimming pool with a view of the Pacific Ocean and five miles of deserted beach. Most rooms have a direct ocean views. Each room has its own private balcony and bathroom.</p>
<h2></h2>
<p>We use the Hazelden Method as the basis for our recovery treatment. The method includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, 12 Step and holistic therapies. We have also recognized the importance of providing continued care and support once a patient is out of a rehab facility. Our “co management program” includes the full participation of the patient’s doctor or therapist before, during and after the patient is in the rehab center. This greatly increases the chances for the patient to succeed in the rehab process.</p>
<h2></h2>
<p><strong>An integral part of our unique rehab process is our CORE HEALTH PROGRAM.</strong></p>
<p>In addition to our regular program of therapy we provide a scheduled 48 hour series of interactive group sessions that last throughout the 60 days. This is our Core Health and Heart Forgiveness Program which addresses anger, self-esteem, self-identity, and relationships. This is a comprehensive program and requires a 60 day commitment to complete.</p>
<p>Core Health is a singular method developed by <strong>Dr. Ed Carlson</strong> over a 30 year period. It includes components and influences of Dr. John Diamond’s, Dr. David Hawkin’s and Dr. Bruce Lipton’s work and research. Core Health also encompasses and expands upon aspects of Applied Kinesiology, Behavioral Kinesiology and Energy Psychology.</p>
<p>Core Health uses a system of <strong>comprehensive kinesiology</strong>, an expanded version of kinesiology (drawing upon both behavioral and applied) that actually measures the energy itself, not just the physical and emotional components.</p>
<h2></h2>
<p>We know from experience that 30 day programs usually do not provide enough time to be really beneficial to a patient. Therefore we strongly recommend a 60 day stay. We use the Hazelton Method combined with our Core Health Program that has proven to greatly increase the success of a patients rehab and reduce relapse rates.</p>
<p>The cost of our 60 day program is $17,900 and includes airfare, room and board, all therapies and counseling, doctor costs, the Core Health Program, weekend activities off site and the co management program with therapist in the United States during and for eight weeks after the stay in the rehab center.</p>
<p>There will be an additional charge for medications, (these usually cost 1/3 of what they cost in the USA). For a private room we charge an additional $1500 per month. For patients wishing to extend their stay beyond 60 days we charge $6,000 per extra month stay.</p>
<h2></h2>
<p>We recommend all our patients spend two days at our medical center in San Jose and take a full two day physical that includes a Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy, full blood, chest x rays, abdomen ultra sound including the Pancreas, Kidneys, Liver, Bladder, Echo Stress test – full exam of the heart and arteries and a complete exam by a physician. A CAT scan and MRI are also available.</p>
<p>This complete exam costs between $1,500 and $2,000 and will give a person a complete profile of their overall health and may detect any abnormalities in the body.</p>
<h2></h2>
<p>We provide all our patients with a complete dental exam and full evaluation at no charge with one of Costa Rica’s best dental clinics. Dental work in Costa Rica costs 1/4 of what it costs in the United States.</p>
<h2></h2>
<p>It is common knowledge that no child in kindergarten dreams of being an addict when they grow up. Everyone has gifts, talents, and dreams of a successful and satisfying life. We bring the patient back in touch with those lost dreams and desires. At our rehab centers in Costa Rica we work as a team with the referring therapist. We believe that the referring therapists really make a difference in the success of the program. Those who are truly committed are exactly the kind of therapists we prefer to work with.</p>

<p>Bruce Lipton is a amazing thinker and a true leader in new science and a primary force in the field of epi-genetics. With amazing credentials as a researcher, scientist and medical school professor in allopathic science, he is a powerhouse in bringing the new paradigm into the modern understanding of how the body and human consciousness actually function, as well as bridging science and Spirit.</p>
<p>In many respects Lipton redefines what health is and his work is an integral part of what we teach. His definition is closely aligned with <strong>both</strong> the principles of the Healthy Wealthy Boomer philosophy <strong>and</strong> Core Health.</p>

<p>This is a fascinating interview and discussion about how the environment influences who we are, our behavior and the nature of our consciousness. How changing our consciousness changes our world &#8211; and literally &#8211; our biology.</p>
<p>Bruce Lipton is an amazing guy. My interpretation is that he is the consumate <strong>rock-star scientist</strong>. You normally don&#8217;t think about scientists as the kind of people that are a blast to hang out with. You think of beakers and Bunsen burners and hellacious midterms and white coats&#8230; Bruce Lipton seems like the kind of guy who would be fun to have at your party or as a next door neighbor or working together on a project. His vitality expresses itself through his immense energy and vivid, present intelligence.</p>
<p>The principles that he discusses in this video are the very same things we work with in <a title="Core Health Workshops" href="http://corehealthworkshops.com" target="_blank">Core Health Workshops</a>. He talks about how the stuff <strong>we do</strong> works. In a sense he is a role model for how to think a different way &#8211; a different version of perception.</p>
<p>He talks also about his own transition from sickness as a way of life to becoming a healthy boomer role model and how he did this once he began to understand the power of consciousness.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><h2>What&#8217;s the Difference between a Broke Boomer and a Wealthy Boomer?</h2>
<h2>A <a title="Millionaire Mind Intensive" href="http://healthywealthyboomer.com/wordpress/millionaire-mind-intensive/" target="_blank">millionaire mind</a>.</h2>
<p>Six years ago &#8211; what seems like a lifetime in so many ways &#8211; the chain of events in my life led me to a seminar event in Seattle called the Millionaire Mind Intensive. The energizing, expanding power of that event had a huge impact on my life and, in retrospect, became the turning point for me. Imagine &#8211; 2000+ strangers converged and participated full on for 72 hours, creating an unspoken bond unlike any other group experience I had experienced before.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It was such a hugely positive magnetic attractor field created by that initial 3 day experience, that it took six years before it was fully clear to me what had actually happened.  The energy of the whole experience captured me like high water during a Montana spring run off and swept me into a new life.  A week after attending that event as a participant, I was in Vancouver BC, on my first of three working interviews to be a member of Core Team working for Peak Potentials.</p>
<p>For the next 18 months, the energy continued to expand through 28 events in 28 cities. Looking back, there was such a magnitude of change that it took a number of years for me to expand enough to energetically match what had happened to me.</p>
<p>Since that time, my primary focus has been to look deep within, to clear out the junk, the emotional trauma and the defective thinking and behavioral patterns that had unconsciously become my own internal defaults through life experience.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s funny how we <strong>think</strong> we know what we know until we <strong>understand</strong> something fully and realize we didn&#8217;t. Understanding comes from the heart, not the mind.</p>
<p>In many ways being part of Core Team is such an accelerated learning experience spiritually, emotionally and mentally, that it truly tested my mettle.</p>

<p>It made me stretch in spite of my flaws and shortcomings to meet my self imposed challenge head-on.</p>
<p>In June 2011, it has been a full four years since I was in the room for a Peak Potentials event. During that four years I have not been idle, in fact, I have continuously focused on shrinking the gap between what Peak Potentials training demanded of me in 2005-2006 and what I have been able to become as a result of that full fledged launch into change and self growth.</p>
<p>The Tampa MMI last weekend confirmed that my work has not been in vain. The period of time between 2006 and 2011 has been tumultuous, exciting and even devastating at times.</p>
<p>Over the last two years, my intensive work in Core Health:</p>

<li>as a certified facilitator second</li>
</ul>
<p>has given me the key to my own internal freedom and expansion. Practicing, mastering and teaching Core Health has created a net result where the following is true:</p>

<p>Attending the MMI in Tampa, masterfully led by Doug Nelson with passion, grace and full power,  verified for me that the difference between a Broke Boomer and a Wealthy Boomer is a Millionaire Mind.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><span style="color: blue;">Doug Nelson is Peak Potential&#8217;s lead trainer. He has written a book entitled: Catch Fire &#8211; How to Ignite Your Personal Economy. It will be released soon. Go buy one. This guy&#8217;s awesome.</span></p>
<p>We are all energy beacons, emitting the vibrational truth about who we really are to all around us at all times.</p>
<p>Bleep, Bleep, Bleep. We are constantly sending out a wave signature that defines exactly who we are at any given moment. And the energy never lies, it is merely an objective transmission of our energy blueprint.</p>
<p>What Doug Nelson confirmed for me, is that I have a millionaire mind and the MMI provided for me the next course adjustment in my educational and professional life. The expansion continues.</p>
<p>Being in the energy of the MMI is such a <em><strong>dramatic contrast</strong></em> to the incessant whining and complaining in the media and wherever people get together and talk about the economy lately. It reminded me why the Law of Attraction actually works and what the difference is between normal thinking and the millionaire mindset.</p>
<ul>
<li>The normal mind says:  This can&#8217;t be done, it will  never work. Did you hear the door close?</li>
<li>The millionaire mind says: What do I need to do or learn to figure out how to do this and who knows how to do what I don&#8217;t understand yet? Is that filled with possibilities? Yes, it is.</li>
</ul>
<p>Obviously the old methods and the old paradigm are no longer working. Learn what you need to let go of and DO SO. The old way is not working.</p>
<p>In every major economic crisis in history, those who are open, who are seeking, seek and find the right knowledge and a plan to  prosper immensely. The fact is that there is always opportunity and abundance is the natural state of the universe. The only place where this is not true is in the mind of man.</p>
<p>Change your mind. Choose something else. Find out what you need to do to cultivate your own Millionaire Mind. Financial intelligence is the answer.</p>
<p>If you think investing in more 401k&#8217;s and accumulating social security will provide you a decent lifestyle in retirement, wake up. They won&#8217;t. Pull your head out of the sand and get moving. If you honestly believe that if we wait long enough the debt crisis will go away by itself, you are delusional.</p>

<p>A primary Healthy Wealthy Boomer recommendation is participating in a Heart Forgiveness Workshop because  it helps release toxins, balance our emotions and create the <a title="Relaxation Response" href="http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/relaxation+response" target="_blank">relaxation response</a>.</p>
<p>Anger releases toxins into the body that linger for a sustained period of time in the body. These toxins create many long term negative side effects.</p>
<p>Releasing anger permanently is such an important tool for balance and clarity. We all can benefit by learning to live without anger and that&#8217;s what we do in Heart Forgiveness Workshops.</p>

<p><strong>Have you been thinking about lifestyle changes that will get you physically healthy again? Are you one of the 1 percenters ready to shift?</strong></p>
<p>Lots of Baby Boomers are thinking about it. If you&#8217;re really ready, quit thinking and start doing.</p>
<p>We are looking for the 1<strong>% of all Baby Boomers on the tipping point</strong> &#8211; ready to tip over into a new, robust healthy lifestyle. Ready to let go of belief systems that don&#8217;t work any more and do not serve us mentally, emotionally or physically &#8211; and probably never have.</p>

<p>Getting in shape and FEELING GREAT does not have to be a trauma event. It should be fun &#8211; like baking cookies with our grand children. It doesn&#8217;t require making a huge change in your life to get started. Making incremental changes is easy as it should be. When things are <strong>both</strong> complex <strong>and</strong> not fun, human nature is such that we won&#8217;t do them &#8211; or at least we won&#8217;t stick with the program long enough to make a difference.</p>
<p>Who am I to buck human nature?</p>
<h2>Where the 1 Percenters Can Start&#8230;</h2>
<p>Start with simple things you can do right away that don&#8217;t require effort and do not cost money.</p>
<p>For example, if your morning ritual is meeting your friend for coffee at your favorite espresso shop,  maybe you can start by walking to meet your friend for coffee every morning. Maybe you can cut your latte down from a grande to a tall. Start eating carrot and celery sticks 3 times a week (as a snack in the afternoon) and cut back the number of times you eat fried food.</p>
<p>Start cooking at home more and learn how to make delicious, simple and healthy meals. If you don&#8217;t cook, take a cooking class or get together with friends and start cooking healthy recipes together.</p>
<p>Buy a blender and start making awesome healthy ice blended drinks or fruit smoothies. It&#8217;s a great time for smoothies since it&#8217;s summer time.</p>
<p>This is not about Jenny Craig or The  Biggest Loser. It&#8217;s about making a choice to enjoy your life better, to be happier and to <em><strong>LIVE LONGER</strong></em>.</p>
<p>Jamie Oliver has started something awesome that he calls the Food Revolution. He&#8217;s traveling around the US trying to get people focused on children&#8217;s  nutrition in schools and bring enough attention to it to get something done about the horrendous nutrition quality in school food programs for kids. It all starts at home and even if your kids are grown, you can get involved with your grandchildren&#8217;s food.</p>
<p>Awareness is a good place to start.</p>

<p>Many Baby Boomers realize that it&#8217;s time to do something different. The online estimates are huge &#8211; somewhere in the nature of ~23 million Baby Boomers are obese depending on the stats you read.</p>

<p><span>Obesity traditionally has been defined as a weight at least 20% above the weight corresponding to the lowest death rate for individuals of a specific height, gender, and age (ideal weight).</span></p>
<p><span>More recent guidelines for obesity use a measurment called BMI (body mass index) which is the individual&#8217;s weight multiplied by 703 and then divided by twice the height in inches. BMI of 25.9–29 is considered overweight; BMI over 30 is considered obese.</span></p></blockquote>
<p>Harv Eker, founder of Peak Potentials &#8211; says,</p>
<p>&#8220;Clarity is Power.&#8221;</p>
<p>And I agree with him. Clarity can be power. Part of achieving clarity is knowing what it is you are going to do and why you are going to do it.</p>
<p>To some degree, clarity comes from the commitment to follow through on what you are talking about doing. To restate that what I am saying is:</p>

</blockquote>
<p>Otherwise it is just talk.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s funny, really, how we do things over and over that don&#8217;t work. We choose physical patterns that are are rooted in dysfunctional emotional stuff without being aware that we do it. It has become &#8211; for whatever reason &#8211; the default. When something becomes a default in human consciousness, it is no longer a conscious choice.</p>
<p><em><strong>It is an unconscious choice.</strong></em></p>
<p>At some point, we accept that default and get used to living with it. Sometimes clarity comes through waking up or <em><strong>snapping out of it</strong></em> &#8211; out of a walking dream state of semi-conscious behavior &#8211; a type of comatose that we have grown to accept as normal. To my way of thinking, anything but vibrant health is not a natural default, although it may be normal.</p>
<p>The greatest obstacles to overcome regarding health are belief systems.</p>
<p>What makes me an authority on this? This is an aspect of what we teach in Core Health workshops. Over and over again we see that this is true. We show people a way out of the rut and how to make new energy choices and it works.</p>
<p>The media and mainstream medical systems love to reinforce our dependency on the need to confer with them about everything related to our health.</p>
<p>Why?</p>
<p>Being healthy&#8217;s up to each of us. It&#8217;s part of our autonomy &#8211; part of our authenticity. We don&#8217;t need anybody&#8217;s permission to be healthy. Create your own clarity and clarify your power. It is such a great sense of release and a sense of <em><strong>in</strong></em>-powerment to take control of your health.</p>
<p>Choose your own perspective on health &#8211; choose a new version that suits you better and start challenging what <em><strong>the powers that be</strong></em> say to you over and over again.</p>
<p>Choose <strong><em>CHRONIC WELLNESS</em></strong> instead. Be a 1 percenter and jump in, if you&#8217;re ready for health.</p>

<h2>Day Three of the Healthy Boomer 6 Pack Challenge &#8211; what an amazing day at Siesta Key beach.</h2>
<p>It&#8217;s interesting what happens when we challenge each other in a healthy way &#8211; striving for excellence on a collective level. It&#8217;s a really positive thing to do on many levels. First and foremost, there is so much negative in the press, over the airwaves and in most conversation that counter balancing that negative with uplifting language, visuals and thoughts is so refreshing and empowering &#8211; <em><strong>in</strong></em>-powering actually. That is creating power from the inside out versus getting our power from a source outside ourselves.</p>
<p>By always speaking in language that enhances, we make a healthy contribution to the people and events around us. It costs nothing and it is contagious.</p>
<p>People like to feel good and it stands out clearly against so much negative.</p>
<p>Being a healthy boomer starts with thinking and speaking positively. All that is required is a choice. Making a habit out of it is what takes diligence. This is the fundamental precept in my challenge. Become a <strong><em>healthy baby boomer</em></strong>.</p>
<h3>Start Thinking Healthy.</h3>
<h3>Start Speaking Healthy.</h3>
<h3>Start Acting Healthy.</h3>
<h3>Start Being Healthy.</h3>
<p>This does not require a PhD in Physical Therapy or that you are working out like a professional athlete. You can start right this minute. Get up and stretch, take a walk, have a glass of water, smile about something, quiet yourself and enjoy the sunrise or go out and look at the moon for a while.</p>
<p>We can do many things to improve our health easily. Diminishing and virtually eliminating stress is a really good place to start. Make a choice to remove anger from your life. Smile and laugh more.</p>
<h3>Watch a funny movie and laugh hard &#8211; often.</h3>
<p>Quit sweating the small stuff.</p>
<p>If nothing else, take up the challenge strictly from the standpoint of making the determination within yourself that in 90 days you will be laughing more. That&#8217;s a huge step in the direction of health.</p>
<h2>Whatever reason works for you &#8211; use it.</h2>
<p>Maybe you have high blood pressure and you&#8217;re under a lot of stress and you have kids. Think about them being without a dad or a mom five or ten years down the road if you do nothing about your current situation. That&#8217;s a good motivator for many.</p>
<p>Think of it this way&#8230;</p>
<p>Life can be a lot more fun than it has been. Where do I start having fun?</p>
<blockquote><p>Ask yourself:</p>
<p><strong>Isn&#8217;t life more fun when I feel better physically? </strong></p>
<p><strong>Remember the tireless energy as a kid? </strong></p>
<p><strong>What happened to that?</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Focus your attention on that to start with. Simply go into a place when you were small (in your mind and heart) and remember what that feels like. Think about what it used to feel like when you would sleep at night as a child.</p>
<p>How comfortable and safe you felt.</p>
<p>That memory and that knowledge is still locked deep within you &#8211; so you already know how to do what I am talking about.</p>
<p>Summon it forth.</p>
<p>Choose to start having fun and get a  new start enjoying your health.</p>
<p>Change what you think about health and take up the Healthy Wealthy Boomer: Healthy Boomer Six Pack Challenge whether you want six pack abs or not.</p>
<p>Choose to be a Healthy Wealthy Boomer and Make the Second Fifty Years Better Than the 1st. There is no asset of greater value than excellent health &#8211;  so starting developing that asset again and be a wealthy boomer too.</p>

<p>Gotcha. I’m talking about six pack abs – not beer. You know the kind of sexy abs that look great at the beach. I&#8217;m on a mission and I could use your support. Will you help me?</p>
<p><strong>First A Little Personal History</strong></p>
<p>Back in November 2008, I was talking to my close friend on the phone who said that he and a mutual friend of ours had decided to lose weight together. So on that call, I committed to my friend to join in and get below 200 pounds by my birthday the following July (2009). Along came July and I was under 200 pounds for the first time in a number of years.</p>
<p>This year, I’ve made a different commitment with less time to accomplish it. What’s the commitment?</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>6 PACK ABS </strong><strong>BY MY BIRTHDAY IN JULY.</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>This is on the radical side &#8211; time wise -and a tough target but I’m confident that I can do this. Last time I lost the weight almost exclusively as a result of increased physical activity – initially by walking 5-7 miles a day in the mountains of Pennsylvania and later by adding back in Tibetan Rites, Qigong and reduced food intake to my daily routines.</p>
<p>I’ve tried the six pack abs thing before unsuccessfully. I even blogged about it in 2008: <a href="http://tobehealthy.com/wordpress/2008/07/10/how-come-i-cant-get-six-pack-abs/" target="_blank">Why Can’t I Get Six Pack Abs?</a></p>
<p><strong>Why Will I Be Successful This Time? </strong></p>
<p>My plan will succeed because I’m refining my physical routine again plus adding a significant focus on raw foods and being specific about getting enough of the right kind of fat.</p>
<p>This is my physical regimen between now and July:</p>
<ul>
<li>Walking 3-5 miles a day aggressively</li>
<li>Tibetan Rites every day</li>
<li>Qigong 3-4 times a week</li>
<li>Free weights: (to build up my upper body to strength level that preceded my broken wrist in 2003) 3- sets of 12, 10, 8, 6 alternating on each arm with starting with 10 pound weights and working my way up to 40 pound weights.</li>
<li>I will also be using diet suggestions and core exercises recommended in Mike Geary’s  incredibly successful e-book: The <a href="http://tobehealthy.com/truth-about-abs" target="_blank">Truth About Abs</a>.</li>
</ul>
<blockquote><p><span><span style="color: #ff0000;">Note: Personal Recommendation</span> &#8211; Over the last couple of years, I’ve been following Mike. I think he is the genuine article and really walks his talk. I always read his newsletter and the more I read it, the more I realize that our health philosophies are really in alignment. Lots of things I have been saying for years keep coming out in his newsletters. Nice to get validation from a certified personal trainer and certified nutrition specialist. I highly recommend <a href="http://tobehealthy.com/truth-about-abs" target="_blank">Truth About Abs</a> for anybody serious about health and getting in shape &#8211; and the bonuses that come with his &#8211; e-book are really awesome.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><strong>Something else is different too.</strong></p>
<p>Combined with Geary&#8217;s core strength recommendations I&#8217;m adding another tool: <strong><a href="http://corehealthfacilitator.wordpress.com" target=_blank>Core Health</a></strong>. Coupled with my physical regimen this creates a Baby Boomer Secret Weapon &#8211; and if I am right &#8211; the tools for a Baby Boomer Six Pack.</p>
<p>In 2009, I found Core Health. I liked it so much that I moved from Montana to Florida to study it with the founder, Dr. Ed Carlson, and after months of study and multiple joyful, expansive weekend intensives, I received my certification as a Core Health facilitator last December.</p>
<p>While the physical aspects of exercise and diet are very important, there are other things that are just as important and perhaps even more so – <strong>attitude and energy</strong>. From what I have learned in Core Health during 2009, I am convinced that when I lock in my commitment to succeeding at creating 6 pack abs using the DTQ techniques and making new energy decisions, I will succeed 100%.</p>
<p>The proof is in the pudding. Results are all that matters.</p>
<p>I am going to blog about this process the whole way and post videos and blogs about my routines from now until my birthday. I&#8217;m looking for some support. Just an occasional &#8220;atta-boy&#8221; and blog comments along the way would really help. Are you with me?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p><strong>Are You a Healthy Boomer?</strong></p>
<p>If you are &#8211; good for you. If you&#8217;re not yet, you can be. 2010 is the year for great possibilities.</p>
<p>New Years resolutions tend to be an annual ritual for many of us as we reflect upon the year that we are leaving behind and look forward to potential in the new year. Why do health club memberships skyrocket every year about this time and then peter out around March?</p>
<p>Basically new years resolutions never work and there is a good reason for that which I will address later in this post.</p>
<p>What gives <strong>ME</strong> the right to &#8220;preach&#8221;?</p>
<p><strong>Because I AM a Healthy Boomer.</strong></p>
<p>It is not an accident that guys half my age call me Mr. Energy. I have been focused on a healthy and natural lifestyle since 1971 &#8211; with some glitches and bumps along the way &#8211; but overall, throughout most of that time, I have chosen a path of &#8220;excellent health and vitality&#8221; as my standard. My lifelong motto has been this: I DON&#8217;T DO SICK. I have chosen a life of health as a conscious decision.</p>
<p>At age 18, I decided to take responsibility for my health. I made a choice to follow a path that would lead to longevity &#8211; and a vibrant, healthy life &#8211; not just a long one. I started looking at people around me and noticed how some older people had beautiful skin and bright shiny eyes and others seemed withered, with dry skin and dull eyes. Some had a bounce in their step with lots of energy, while for others, walking was difficult and labored.</p>
<p>I made a life choice &#8211; there and then &#8211; that I would be a member of the former group, and not the latter.</p>
<blockquote><p>As a result of that life choice, my health journey began with the following questions emerging within my consciousness and becoming a dominant force in my life:</p>
<ul>
<li>How do I do that?</li>
<li>How do I live a long and vibrantly healthy life?</li>
<li>What constitutes this kind of lifestyle?</li>
<li>How do I define this for myself?</li>
<li>What rules do I need to live by?</li>
</ul>
</blockquote>
<p>That may not seem like a big deal to you &#8211; now &#8211; as you read this.</p>
<p>Consider this: On a personal level, what were you thinking about &#8211; <em><strong>around health </strong></em>- at age a 18?</p>
<p>In retrospect, for an invincible, highly energetic, 18 year old &#8216;hot shot&#8217; &#8211; with a metabolism that required 6 full meals a day &#8211; that was a pretty profound choice and decision.</p>
<p>One of the things that had led up to that decision was the loss of my dearest and closest friend about a year earlier. He and his brother were both killed in a head-on by a drunk driver. His death forced me to consider mortality for the second time in my life.</p>
<p>Only this experience was different, <strong>it went to my core</strong>.</p>
<p>I went deep and sought resolution within myself. As I pondered life and death coherently and cogently, I chose to redirect my life towards another path. I withdrew from the circle of friends I had known and associated with &#8211; completely &#8211; and embarked upon my own path, alone. On some level I understood that if I did not, I would end up like my dear friend had.</p>
<p>Health became a driving force as a martial arts enthusiast and an &#8220;A&#8221; student in my first year of college, as a full time accounting major.</p>
<p>The regimen of rigorous training &#8211; 6 times a week at the dojo &#8211; and 3 to 4 hours of study daily quickly formed a solid pattern of self discipline &#8211; a skill that has been a real benefit since.</p>
<p><strong>Self Discipline Is a Key Ingredient to Health&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>Where it is most important &#8211; in my experience &#8211; is upholding our choices and being disciplined in our own willingness to follow through on those choices over the long haul. Consistency is what creates self discipline. And consistency in our attitude creates good health over time.</p>
<p>Over many years I have observed human behavior in a class and training environments &#8211; originally in martial arts and for the last 22 years, in qigong and the self development world. What I know is that people have to start where they are, with the existing skills they have &#8211; and build success upon those.</p>
<p>This is my mission with Baby Boomers to promote and in-power Baby Boomer health.</p>
<p><strong>Why Don&#8217;t New Years Resolutions Work?</strong></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s why.</p>
<p>Changing your mind does not change your energy body &#8211; your blueprint &#8211; until your mind and your energy body are in alignment. When you change in your root &#8211; in your energy &#8211; the change is permanent.</p>
<p>How do we do that?</p>
<p>I have looked for a method that <strong>works for everybody</strong> my whole life and in 2009 I found it. It&#8217;s called Core Health, a system of <a href="http://corehealthfacilitator.wordpress.com/2009/11/09/comprehensive-kinesiology-core-health/" target="_blank">comprehensive kinesiology</a> that both encompasses and expands upon:</p>
<ul>
<li>behavioral kinesiology and</li>
<li>energy psychology</li>
</ul>
<p>I liked it so much I moved from Montana to Florida and have just completed my certification as a Core Health Facilitator.</p>
<p>This is the most comprehensive and effective system I have ever studied and I want to teach anyone  &#8211; who is sincerely ready for a change in their life &#8211; how to change their lives with new energy decisions that are permanent.</p>

<p>After 35+ years of search and study &#8211; looking for the best ways to achieve comprehensive natural health most effectively, I finally found what I have been looking for:</p>

<p>The last six months have been an accelerated period of energy expansion and learning. During that time I have been an active participant in 7 weekend sessions of intensive training in Energy Essentials facilitator certification courses.</p>
<p>I am eager to tell you about my experiences as a student of Core Health, Heart Forgiveness and Funny with Money. As of this date, I am now a certified Core Health Facilitator, Heart Forgiveness Facilitator and a Funny with Money Facilitator.</p>
