How would the people of America respond back in 1785? Would they sit with it and wonder when the members of Congress are going to begin toeing the line? Would they tolerate the type of behavior we – as a nation – tolerate today?
They would not yet why do we?
America Is Not A Nation of Village Idiots

You’d never know it wasn’t true if you ASSUME that the media and the Beltway pundits actually tell the truth.
The way Congress treats the American people – the people who pay their salaries – is that we’re ignorant. And year after year, election after election, we let them get away with it. They have forgotten they are OUR employees, we are not their minions. We are allowing these people to label us and treat us – the citizens of the greatest country in the world – as pushovers, mamby pamby, overweight, middle of the road, spoiled, selfish, naughty children that are lazy and don’t have the initiative or brains to make our own decisions.
There is nothing further from the truth.
And the MEDIA and PUNDITS are just as bad or worse. They should be calling Congress on the carpet – not the people in this country. But they are not going to because they’re sleeping in the same bed.
In general, politics is never the topic on this Healthy Wealthy Boomer blog.
However, there comes a time. This is not a partisan – democratic, republican or independent – issue. It is an issue of personal responsibility. This is fundamental to our rights.
A word that came to mind is: PLACABLE.
As it bubbled up, I thought: “Is that actually a word?” Yes it is.
Here is the definition:
plac·a·ble – adjective
capable of being placated, pacified, or appeased; forgiving.
Are YOU placable?
I’m not – although I have been in the past – and I’m done with being fed pablum and having someone tell me to shut up and take it like all good citizens should.
What comes to mind is George Orwell’s “1984″ and Aldous Huxley’s, “Brave New World”. At the time I read them in the late 60′s, it was absolute science fiction to me. Weird and interesting yet fundamentally implausible.
With each passing year it becomes more and more plausible.
The people in America (and actually world wide) have to wake up and start being responsible. It is each of our responsibility for what happens in our lives. We are responsible what what we choose, the mistakes we make and for what we accomplish.
This is a good thing not a bad one. This is rooted in FREE WILL which is actually the only REAL lowest common denominator in existence, not ignorance as politicians and the Media would have us believe.
Let us assume our responsibility and start holding our government to a higher standard than we have been. It is truly time to wake up and be conscious as a citizen of the United States and as a citizen of the world.
This is a matter of finding your voice and speaking your truth. Ultimately, it means stepping into your power. You are powerful.
Watch out for your money because Congress will not. And on top of that Congress has the unmitigated gall to ask for more money after they have literally pissed away trillions. Who’s kidding who?
And if we don’t let them have more they are going to have a tantrum and punish us?
